Easter Success

This Easter Holiday saw over 400 children and young people taking part in a variety of sport and activity sessions located all across the borough.

Above Parkour delivering an enthusiastic Parkour / Free Running sessions for groups of youngsters across two days. Good to see new Easter particpants coming through to our weekly club at Harrow Lodge Park every Monday evening (10-13yrs 4.30-5.30pm & 14-17yrs 5.30-6.30pm).

Athletics was another huge hit where our coaches helped the athletes build from the momentum of the Friday afternoon sessions held in the lead up to the school holidays. It was great to see lots of potential future Olympians taking part and enjoying themselves.

Youths had fun and got muddy with Josh at the VIP HQ Obstacle Course. A great way to challenge yourself while having fun with friends.VIP HQ will be moving location and will hopefully delivering more sessions in the near future.

Female Futsal and Open Futsal sessions at Bower Park Academy drew many passionate participants and we witnessed some amazing displays of fancy footwork, teamwork and great goal scoring over the course of the day.

Fencing Attendees worked with the Little Musketeers to gain more knowledge on these unique sports and to simply have a go.

Netball in our local parks MUGAs was a good way of getting young ladies out and working on their skills, drills, attack and defence as well as taking part in fabulous game play to finish the day.

The West Ham Football Camp was as prevalent as ever with spaces filling up in just a matter of days. With the weather being touch and go for the second week this did not stop our keen footballers getting involved. It was so good to see the increasing number of girls taking part in our football camps...Come on the girls!!! We are fortunate to be able to deliver weekly WHFC KICKS session every Monday 5-6.30pm at Brittons Academy as an exit route from the camps for our local footballers for Free.

Over in the disability sport sector, we held some fun activity sessions at the YMCA and MyPlace Centres, Athletics at Hornchurch Athletic Stadium and Swimming at Sapphire in Romford. It was nice to see some new faces as well as regulars in attendance.

A big THANK YOU goes out to all of our coaching staff, partners and the facilities for working extremely hard and doing such a great job teaming up with us to produce a fun-filled portfolio of sport and exercise this past 2 weeks. Regular weekly sessions are back up and running so we hope to see you at one (or more) of those.

Our May Half Term Activites are now out and ready to book so take a look!

We are now preparing for the Summer holiday, working on an action-packed roster for our community. Be sure to check the School Holiday Activities tab on the Havering Active website for schedules and booking links.

Some of those involved in improving cultural activity in Havering are keen to find out more about what the residents of Havering get up to in their spare time locally, would ideally like to do and what would help local people to do more.

There will be a chance for anyone to find out more and give their feedback at a series of informal drop in sessions throughout the borough do pop along if you can

Alternatively, you can complete a short questionnaire by clicking the survey button below.
